Ren (6.5 yr old Tabby boy) RenRen was a stray cat found in the Red Bank area. He is a large boy that gets overlooked simply because of his age and the fact that he will not compete with the other cats for your attention. In a room of 25+ cats, that is common. If you sit down in the middle of the room, he will come over and sit about 3 feet away and patiently wait for you to come to him. He is social and mellow and likes to lay on the Kuranda beds in the middle of the cat rooms when he is not perched up high with the rest of the Fab Four. He would love to lounge on the couch with his new family. He likes to be brushed and play with dangling toys. He also likes to give “head butts” and is often seen leaning into his girlfriend Lela or grooming her. If adopted only as a pair, he should be with Naobi or Lela.
Naobie Naobi (7 yr old Tabby / White boy) Naobi was dumped at the Pet Placement Center when he was just a kitten in July 2006. He has lived there ever since. Naobi is good at being the "welcoming kitty" for any new cats that need a friend. He is very accepting and will allow anyone to snuggle up to him if they so desire; so new cats are often comforted by his “whatever” demeanor:) He likes high places or dark corners to sleep in and he likes to talk to you. Naobi seems stand-off-ish, but once he gets to know you, he can be quite affectionate and likes a good head and neck scratch. He is a large cat with a reverse “widow's peak” that accentuates his unique eyes. You can find him most days snuggled up with one of his buddies. If adopted only as a pair, he should be with Ren or Hissy Fit.
Lela Lela (5.5 yr old Pastel Calico girl) Lela is simply stunning with her gray and cream patches. She came into the Pet Placement Center with her 3 littermates in October 2007. She was always a little shy and is the kind of cat that will need some patience when adapting to a new environment because the shelter has been her only home. She is easily startled, but if you approach her slowly and quietly, you can win her over in no time. She does like to be petted and has the softest bunny-like fur. She will even let you brush her on occasion. She is most comforted by her boyfriend Ren and will follow him around like a love-sick girlfriend, but also enjoys “girl time” with Hissy Fit:) If adopted only as a pair, she should be with Ren or Hissy Fit.
Hissy Fit Hissy Fit (5.5 yr old Long Haired Tortoiseshell girl) Hissy Fit got her name because she would hiss when you picked her up as a little baby...not the best name, but it stuck. Despite her name, Hissy Fit really is very sweet and likes attention once she knows you. Like Lela, she has been at the Pet Placement Center since October of 2007. Hissy is one of those cats that acts afraid when you approach her, but once she realizes you are just going to pet her, she leans into your hand and makes the most of it. She loves a good back scratch and also likes to be brushed. Once she feels secure in a home, she will blossom into a loving cat. If adopted only as a pair, she should be with Naobi or Lela.
